  • OLM MUH
  • Beckhoff Automation will showcase its latest automation solutions at London Lab Live 2026, held at ExCeL London on May 6-7, 2026. This event highlights digitalization, automation, and connectivity in laboratory environments, with robotics and intelligent systems among the main themes.

    ### Live Demonstration of Transport and Robotic Integration
At stand B51, Beckhoff will present a live application combining its XTS (eXtended Transport System) intelligent transport technology with a Dobot collaborative robot. This system demonstrates the real-time interaction of independently moving movers with a cobot, all simultaneously controlled by a single Industrial PC running TwinCAT 3 automation software.

    ### Flexible Processing in Laboratory Workflows
    The integrated solution flexibly manages:
    • Recipes and cartridges
    • Microplates
    • Laboratory consumables

Thanks to the individual control of each mover, dynamic adaptation to different process steps and container formats is possible without the need for mechanical retooling.

    ### Unified Automation with PC-Based Control
Beckhoff’s PC-based control platform integrates the following functions:
    • PLC functionality
    • Motion control
    • Robot coordination

This unified approach simplifies the system architecture while ensuring seamless interaction between transport systems and robotic elements.

    ### Scalable and Open System Architecture
The solution supports easy integration of third-party robotics and equipment and accelerates the transition from laboratory scale to full production. Furthermore, it is designed for rapid adaptation to changing workflows. Its open architecture offers a practical path for expanding automation in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

    ### Meeting Industry Demand for Flexibility
Laboratories and production facilities increasingly require more adaptable automation systems. The solution, through real-time coordination of transport and robotic systems, aims to:
    • Reduce changeover times
    • Increase process efficiency
    • Support evolving production requirements

    ### Expert Support at the Event
Beckhoff Automation representatives will be available at the event to provide visitors with support on application and implementation strategies for laboratory automation projects.

    ### Future Vision
In an era where laboratories are evolving towards greater automation and digital integration, flexible and scalable solutions are critical. The combination of intelligent transport technologies and robotic systems will form the foundation for efficient and adaptable workflows.
