  • Beckhoff Automation will showcase its latest automation solutions at London Lab Live 2026, held at ExCeL London on May 6-7, 2026.

    ### Live Demonstration of Transport and Robotic Integration
At stand B51, Beckhoff will present a live application combining its XTS (eXtended Transport System) intelligent transport technology with a Dobot collaborative robot. The system will demonstrate the real-time coordination of independently moving movers with the cobot, all controlled via a single Industrial PC running TwinCAT 3 automation software.

    ### Flexible Transport in Laboratory Processes
This integrated system enables the flexible handling of various laboratory materials such as bottles, cartridges, microplates, and lab consumables. Each mover is individually controlled, allowing dynamic adaptation to different process steps and container formats without the need for mechanical changes.

    ### Unified Automation with PC-Based Control
Beckhoff's PC-based control platform offers PLC functionality, motion control, and robotic coordination in one system. This unified approach simplifies the system structure while enabling seamless interaction between transport systems and robotic elements.

    ### Scalable and Open System Architecture
The solution is designed to allow easy integration of third-party robotics and laboratory devices, transition from lab-scale development to full production, and rapid workflow adaptation. The open architecture provides a practical path for scaling automation in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

    ### Responding to the Industry's Need for Flexibility
Increasingly, laboratories and production facilities require flexible automation systems. The presented solution aims to reduce changeover times, increase process efficiency, and support adaptation to production demands through real-time coordination of transport and robotics.

    ### Expert Support at the Event
Beckhoff Automation representatives will be present at the event to inform visitors about applications and implementation strategies for laboratory automation projects.

As laboratories move towards greater automation and digital integration in the future, flexible and scalable solutions that combine intelligent transport systems with robotic technologies will play a critical role.
