Siemens has expanded its industrial-grade private 5G infrastructure to the US and seven additional countries. This development was made possible by the introduction of two new radio units covering the 3.8–4.2 GHz band and the US-specific CBRS band. As a result, Siemens' 5G infrastructure now reaches 15 countries across Europe and the Americas.

    ### Importance of Siemens' 5G Infrastructure
The private CBRS band radio unit enables manufacturers in the US to implement Siemens' private 5G technology in their facilities. This infrastructure supports industrial sectors such as manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, intralogistics, heavy industry, and crane operations.

The company has updated its 5G routers with new edge computing capabilities. This allows applications to run on the device, while real-time and AI-powered data processing can be performed directly on the production floor.

Siemens' private 5G infrastructure was developed considering industrial use cases, operational requirements, OT cybersecurity, and end-users. The infrastructure offers end-to-end, on-site wireless network operation without the need for third-party providers or mobile network operators. It also enables IT/OT integration as part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio.

    ### Technical Specifications
    • Supported automation protocols include Profinet.
    • Adjustable uplink and downlink capacities are available.
    • It has received wireless ProfiSafe communication certification from TÜV, the German safety and certification authority.

    ### Countries Where the Infrastructure is Available
    • Newly added countries: Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Norway, Poland, United Kingdom, and USA (access in the USA will begin in summer 2026).
    • Previously accessible countries: Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, and Switzerland.

This expansion by Siemens accelerates the adoption of private 5G technologies in the industrial sector, enabling more efficient and secure management of production processes.
