π‘ What is NEMA Make it American?
The Make it American certification program, developed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), is designed to help members offer products compliant with the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act. This act, enacted under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, sets domestic content requirements for iron and steel products, manufactured products, and construction materials in all federally funded infrastructure projects.

π Fairfield Facility Led the Way
Schneider Electric first initiated the NEMA Make it American process certification at its Fairfield, Ohio facility last year. In May 2025, the Fairfield facility became one of the first in the country to receive this certification. According to the company's statement, more than 20 US facilities are currently certified and listed in the NEMA Make it American BABA Registry.

Kelly Becker, President of Schneider Electric North America Operations, stated, "AI growth and unprecedented energy demand have led to an inflection point for industry in the US." This certification coincides with Becker's appointment to the NEMA board of governors. In this leadership position, Becker will help shape the organization's policy advocacy, legislative actions, workforce solutions, and operations.
