Robotics Growth Fuels FANUC's Major Investment in Michigan

FANUC is investing $90 million in a new facility in Michigan to expand its robotic manufacturing in North America and meet increasing demand. This 78.04-hectare (840,000 sq ft) facility aims to increase production capacity, improve customer response times, and support the demand for industrial robots in the US market. Additionally, the company is opening the FANUC Academy training center to address labor shortages and train the next generation of experts in automation.

The global industrial robotics market is expected to grow from $34 million to $61 million between 2025 and 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.9%. This growth is largely driven by consumer demand for rapid goods production and delivery. Businesses are opting for the Robotics as a Service (RaaS) subscription model to reduce high upfront costs; this model offers installation, update, and maintenance services, thereby increasing business efficiency.

### Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence Integration
Robotics technologies help businesses achieve sustainability goals, such as reducing their carbon footprint and saving energy. Robots consume less energy while reducing waste and material usage, offering environmentally friendly solutions through AI-powered performance optimization. ### FANUC's Michigan Investment and Training Center
FANUC has invested $300 million to date to provide innovative robotics and automation technologies across the US. The new Michigan facility will reach a total area of 278.7 hectares (3 million sq ft), creating over 700 jobs. The FANUC Academy, set to open at the end of the year, will be the largest automation and robotics training center in the US, aiming to close the industry's talent gap and attract new talent.
