Nidec Drive Technology Opens New Press Machine Assembly Plant in Japan

Nidec Drive Technology Corporation announced the opening of a new press machine assembly plant in Ritto City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. This new factory will double the company's in-Japan production capacity from 60 press machines per year to 120.

The new factory will expand the production of the largest press machines, ranging from 150 tons to 330 tons, making it possible to respond to different production needs. This step will enable Nidec Drive Technology to further expand its production centers in Asia.

The factory is located on the same site as Nidec Machine Tool Corporation. This will allow for the sharing of machine processing equipment, measurement technologies, and service systems, creating synergy between press and machine tool technologies. Visitors will be able to see gear machine tools, CNC machining centers, lathes, and press machines at this facility.

Nidec Drive Technology not only manufactures press machines but also offers production lines that include feeding systems, peripheral equipment, and control units. With the new factory, the company will continue its efforts to increase the parts production rate, shorten assembly times, and strengthen the post-installation product support system by maximizing the synergy and economies of scale within the Nidec Group.
