Kollmorgen Corporation, a global leader in motion control and automation, has expanded its Essentials Servo Drive (KED) series for washdown and hygienic environments. KED was designed with simplicity and flexibility at its core to provide rapid commissioning and reliable performance.

When these servo drives are paired with AKMA aluminum washdown motors and AKMH stainless steel hygienic motors, they provide high-performance motion control in machines requiring washdown and hygiene. Moreover, these systems avoid the high costs typically associated with such applications.

### Compatibility with AKMA and AKMH Motors
AKMA motors offer an anodized aluminum housing and IP69K protection for medium to heavy washdown applications. AKMH motors, on the other hand, provide stainless steel construction and IP69K sealing for daily washdown processes involving high pressure, high heat, and aggressive cleaners.

### SFD-M (Smart Feedback Device, Multi-Turn) Feature
AKMA and AKMH motors are now available with SFD-M technology for multi-turn absolute positioning. This technology provides high-resolution absolute feedback without the need for a battery. Through an energy harvesting method, position information can be stored even during power outages. Furthermore, thanks to motor data, Kollmorgen servo drives – KED, AKD, and AKD2G – gain automatic configuration and faster commissioning capabilities.
