## Industry Offers Concrete Solutions at Hannover Messe 2026 Despite Challenging Conditions

Hannover Messe 2026 proved that industry develops concrete solutions even in challenging times. Artificial intelligence, automation, and digitalization play a critical role in making production processes more efficient and increasing competitiveness.

### International Participation and Interaction

Hannover Messe, the world's largest trade fair for the manufacturing industry, attracted 110,000 visitors. This number was slightly lower than last year's 123,000 visitors, as air travel and public transport strikes made journeys difficult. However, the atmosphere of the fair and the quality of visitors showed that technologies are ready and implementation is gaining importance.

40% of the participants came from abroad, with China, Brazil, the USA, Japan, and South Korea being among the countries sending the most visitors.

### Innovations Shaping the Future of Industry

Artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and energy infrastructure are at the heart of the industrial future. This year, AI-powered production systems, tools for process automation, and solutions for fault prediction were prominent. Humanoid robots capable of complex movements were introduced as future employees in the manufacturing and service sectors. Additionally, solutions for energy efficiency and grid expansion for the transition to a carbon-neutral industry were showcased.

### Strong Participation from Politics and Business

The fair hosted high-level representatives from the business and political worlds. Figures such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Siemens CEO Roland Busch, SAP CEO Christian Klein, German Minister of Economy Katherina Reiche, and German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius attended the event. Canada's Minister of Industry Mélanie Joly and Stéphane Séjourné from the European Commission were also among the visitors.

### Industry Demands and Solutions

Leading figures in the industry emphasized that Europe is under pressure as a business location. Rising costs, excessive regulations, and geopolitical uncertainties affect companies' competitiveness. However, the fair revealed a determination to invest in the future, innovate, and open new markets.

Dr. Gunther Kegel, President of ZVEI, stated that the Hannover Messe concept was successful, noting that the "Center Stage" area, in particular, provided an opportunity for high-level meetings with policymakers. Kegel stressed that rapid deregulation is essential for Germany and Europe to remain competitive in the field of industrial AI.

Thilo Brodtmann, Managing Director of VDMA, stated that digitalization is progressing rapidly and that artificial intelligence and humanoid robots were the defining themes of the fair. He underlined that politicians in Germany and Brussels must quickly implement the reforms they have committed to.

### Brazil: A Strong Partner at the Right Time

As a partner country, Brazil brought dynamism to the fair with its extensive participation in the fields of industry, energy, and digitalization. In this period of changing global trade relations, it sent an important message supporting more resilient supply chains and collaborations between Europe and Latin America.

### Fair Concept and Participant Experience

Hannover Messe 2026 offered participants a practical and targeted experience with its renewed fair plan and new networking formats. Masterclass sessions gave companies the chance to directly convey their expertise to potential customers.

The "Center Stage" platform, as a source of knowledge transfer, discussion, and inspiration, attracted approximately 30,000 visitors and garnered great interest.

### Looking Ahead to Hannover Messe 2027

In 2027, the fair will be held concurrently with the "Europe Energy Week" event, bringing together energy sector stakeholders with policymakers. Additionally, the fair will become more efficient and attractive by focusing on intensive days between April 5-8.

Jochen Köckler stated that the combination of artificial intelligence with real machines and production systems will be the main theme of Hannover Messe in the coming years.

### About Hannover Messe
