Emerson has introduced the Fisher IC2 Cryogenic Top-Entry Control Valve, specifically designed for cold weather applications. This valve is particularly suitable for cold box applications in low-temperature processes such as air separation units, hydrogen liquefaction, and LNG production, operating reliably even at extremely low temperatures down to -269 °C.
### Advantages of the Fisher IC2 Control Valve
Operating in low-temperature environments presents challenges due to increased costs associated with product and energy losses, and environmental regulations. The Fisher IC2 valve is equipped with advanced cryogenic features to mitigate these issues. Design innovations such as the narrow extension diameter and fluid separator help minimize heat transfer, thereby maintaining the temperature of process fluids.
Thanks to the ENVIRO-SEAL packing and bellows structure developed by Fisher, the valve achieves a maximum leakage limit of 100 ppm by volume, meeting and exceeding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards.
### Technical Specifications
- Operating temperature: Down to -269 °C (-452 °F)
- Pressure class: CL600
- Line sizes: 1 to 4 inches (DN25 - DN100), with more options to be added later
- Use of durable trim materials
- Advanced ENVIRO-SEAL sealing packing
- Metal-to-metal seating
- Easy maintenance thanks to top-entry design
- Modular stem assembly
