Strategic Biofuels has selected Emerson to automate one of the most advanced carbon capture projects in the United States.

    ## Carbon-Neutral Power Plant in Louisiana by Emerson and Strategic Biofuels

The $2 billion Louisiana Green Fuels (LGF) energy facility in Caldwell Parish, USA, will be automated by Emerson. The project combines a fully integrated forest waste-fueled power plant with commercial-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, providing carbon-neutral energy to Louisiana's power grid.

At full capacity, LGF will convert 1.3 million tons of forest waste (biomass) annually into renewable energy, while also permanently storing 1.1 million metric tons of CO₂ annually in secure geological formations approximately one mile (1.6 km) underground. The facility will generate 100 megawatts of clean, dispatchable electricity, positioning Louisiana as a leader in carbon-neutral energy production.

    ### Use of Emerson Automation Technologies

Emerson will deploy its DeltaV Automation Platform and advanced measurement, automation, and reliability technologies to optimize the facility's integrated operations. Emerson solutions such as Rosemount intelligent sensors, control and isolation valves, pressure protection devices, Micro Motion and Flexim flow and gas analysis solutions, and AspenTech data management software will provide high-precision visibility and dynamic optimization.

    ### Project Significance and Strategic Biofuels' Role

Dr. Paul Schubert, CEO of Strategic Biofuels, emphasized that the project is a significant milestone for Caldwell Parish. Emerson's experience in biomass power plants and carbon capture is highlighted as a critical element that will ensure the timely completion of the project.

    ### Emerson's Emphasis on Sustainability

Mike Train, Emerson's chief sustainability officer, stated that this project opens a new path for converting waste biomass into reliable energy and permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere. Emerson supports the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of clean energy facilities with its automation technologies and carbon capture systems.

    ### About Emerson

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Emerson is a global leader providing automation solutions for complex technological challenges. With the goal of engineering an autonomous future, it enables its customers to optimize their operations and accelerate the pace of innovation.

    ### About Strategic Biofuels

Strategic Biofuels is a project company that develops renewable energy solutions. The LGF project in Northeast Louisiana will be implemented in phases as a 100 MW clean energy plant equipped with carbon capture.
