Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is showcasing its new technologies at Hannover Messe 2026, aimed at increasing resilience, efficiency, and sustainability in industrial systems. The event focuses on the integration of data, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced materials to support flexible and adaptable industrial value creation in uncertain global conditions.

    ### Resilient Industry with Data Ecosystems and Artificial Intelligence
Fraunhofer presents solutions on how connected data systems and AI-powered processes can enhance industrial resilience. Through smart data pipelines, automated workflows, and digital twins, decision-making processes are accelerated, and systems become more flexible.

These technologies form the basis of a digital supply chain where continuous data collection, validation, and optimization of production and logistics are achieved. Furthermore, data security is ensured through methods like "secure unlearning," making it possible to remove specific data in distributed AI systems.

    ### Digital Twins and Virtual Engineering Environments
Fraunhofer supports engineering and service development with applications that integrate digital twins, virtual visualization, and AI avatars. These systems provide virtual simulation of industrial processes, increasing collaboration and reducing the need for physical prototypes.

    ### Advanced Electronics and Semiconductor Integration
High-performance packaging technologies are being introduced through APECS pilot line solutions. Focusing on chip integration, thermal management, and reliability, these developments create compact and efficient electronic systems aligned with European semiconductor initiatives.

    ### Circular Economy and Sustainable Materials
In exhibitions focused on resource efficiency and the circular economy, the energy-saving recovery of critical raw materials from batteries using chemical-free electrochemical processes is demonstrated. Additionally, Thermo-Catalytic Reforming (TCR) technology is presented, which converts biogenic waste into synthesis gas, bio-oil, and biochar.

Fraunhofer supports lightweight and sustainable construction, furniture, and packaging applications with its Lignew foam material, which is wood-based, recyclable, and free of synthetic binders.

    ### Industrial Applications in Agriculture and Energy Sectors
Bio-based fertilizers reduce the environmental impact of over-fertilization through controlled nutrient release, while technologies covering production, storage, transportation, and industrial use within the hydrogen value chain are featured in the energy sector.

    ### Optimization in Production and Logistics Systems
Mathematical optimization tools offer solutions for complex multivariate production planning. This enables companies to increase production capacity while reducing costs and ensuring delivery reliability.

    ### Global Collaboration and Industrial Transformation
Through international projects conducted via its liaison office in Brazil, Fraunhofer emphasizes the role of global innovation networks in industrial transformation and knowledge sharing.

Fraunhofer's applied research approach integrates artificial intelligence, data ecosystems, and sustainable technologies to create resilient and adaptable industrial systems in the face of global uncertainties.
