    To overcome these integration complexities, the automotive production infrastructure and manufacturing knowledge of BMW Group have been combined with the autonomous systems and hardware platforms of Hexagon Robotics. According to Hexagon's global Robot Generation research, the public strongly supports the use of robots in physically demanding industrial tasks. This collaboration offers a critical framework for building the path from pilot systems to production-ready humanoid workforce solutions.

    ⚙️ Technical Solution and Responsibilities​


    The technological solution focuses on the deployment, training, and operational improvement of the AEON humanoid robot platform. Responsibilities are divided among partners to align robotic software training with physical vehicle assembly workflows.

    🚀 Application and Future Plans​


    The application strategy is structured to bridge the gap between early-stage testing and active factory operations. Initial tests were conducted in an isolated Innovation Garage to evaluate the robot's basic mechanics and task compatibility.

    The project moved to the next phase with the deployment of the AEON robot for field-based applications at the BMW Group Leipzig Plant. Future pilot phases will involve testing integration with existing automotive infrastructure by moving complex battery assembly activities directly from the Innovation Garage to the active factory environment. The partners plan to achieve full production deployment for the AEON robot by the end of 2026. This marks an evolutionary step towards next-generation production automation.
