    Groundbreaking O-PAS Certified Controller from ASRock Industrial!​


    ASRock Industrial's iEP-5010G-010 industrial IoT controller has become the first product to receive certification under The Open Group's O-PAS Certification Program. This development is a significant step towards open process automation, enabling equipment from different vendors to work seamlessly within a single architecture.

    Why Is It Important? 🤔​


    This certification is designed for process automation and industrial edge computing applications. Especially in regulatory control infrastructure and distributed systems, standardized hardware management simplifies integration, maintenance, and lifecycle upgrades.

    O-PAS Compliance and Independent Verification âś…​


    • The iEP-5010G-010 has been certified as compliant with Version 2 of the O-PAS Standard.
    • It meets the requirements of the OSM-003 Redfish System Management Profile and the PP-003 Regulatory Physical Platform Profile.
    • The certification was independently verified by Enterprise Transformation Partners and IECEE. This indicates that, unlike a vendor declaration, equipment for O-PAS architectures has undergone a verified process.

    Cybersecurity Also a Priority đź”’​


    The controller also holds IEC 62443-4-2 certification. This standard specifies technical security requirements (authentication, access control, system integrity, and communication protection) for components used in industrial automation and control systems. Combined with O-PAS compliance, it offers a robust cybersecurity and interoperability framework for deploying edge computing hardware in open process automation architectures.

    Industrial Edge Hardware Features ⚙️​


    • The fanless controller uses an Intel Atom x6425RE processor.
    • It supports 6–36 V DC input.
    • With an operating capability from -40°C to 70°C, it ensures reliable performance even in harsh industrial environments.

    Reducing Proprietary Dependencies 🤝​


    O-PAS aims to reduce reliance on proprietary automation architectures by defining standardized interfaces and component requirements. This approach makes it easier for plant operators to integrate equipment from different vendors and to replace or upgrade system components without redesigning them.

    The certification of commercially available hardware provides process industry system integrators and operators with a verified platform to evaluate O-PAS deployments and multi-vendor automation architectures.
