🚀 Siemens Joins Robots for America to Transform US Manufacturing
Robots for America, a national coalition helping US manufacturers adopt robotics and automation, announced that Siemens has joined as a founding member. This collaboration will support goals to enhance workforce skills, advance factory technologies, and shape policy.
🎯 Siemens' Mission: Efficiency and Workforce Development in Manufacturing
Chris Stevens, Head of Siemens USA Automation, emphasized that they are in a race to modernize US manufacturing and highlighted the importance of rapidly scaling technologies like robotics, automation, and physical AI into measurable efficiency. Stevens stated that equipping the workforce with the necessary skills and tools to succeed is critical. He added that Robots for America helps unite the industry around this mission, and Siemens is proud to be part of this effort.
✨ Siemens' Contributions to the Coalition:
- Workforce Skill Development: Siemens will bring its expertise in the US robotics market to equipment manufacturers and the broader industrial ecosystem. The company has committed to training 200,000 electricians and manufacturing professionals in the US by 2030.
- Factory Technology: Siemens' industrial automation environment aims to provide a standard foundation connecting robots, machine tools, and production systems. This will enable factory-wide operation and optimization.
- Public-Private Alignment: Siemens is also a partner in key public projects such as the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission and the Department of State's Foundry School initiative.
🤝 Siemens' Role in Policy Making
According to Robots for America, Siemens' participation also indicates the company's involvement in US robotics policies. RFA Executive Director Neysan Rassekh noted that policymakers ask what automation means for workers, and Siemens answers this question by training 200,000 workers to build and operate the factories of the future. Rassekh emphasized that automation and a skilled workforce grow together, and communities and families benefit when American manufacturers can produce more.
