NORD DRIVESYSTEMS introduces a new modular system that includes decentralized drive electronics and efficient motors. This system provides design flexibility thanks to the NORDAC LINK and NORDAC ON frequency inverters having the same communication and safety functions.
### Flexibility and Compatibility in System Design
The extensive intralogistics of e-commerce providers, parcel distribution centers, and airports benefit from space-saving decentralized drive solutions. However, if frequency inverters mounted on the wall or motor have different safety and communication features, additional installation is required. NORD's new modular system solves this problem with decentralized drive electronics for consistent use.
### Technical Specifications
- Motor types: Asynchronous IE3 and synchronous IE5+ motors
- Frequency inverters: NORDAC ON (0.37-3.7 kW, wall and motor mounting) and NORDAC LINK (0.37-7.5 kW, wall mounting)
- Common communication protocols: PROFINET, EtherCAT
- Safety standards: SIL3 / PLe and SIL2 / PLd levels via PROFIsafe and FSoE
- Safety functions: STO, SS1-t, SS1-r, SLS, SMS, SSM (encoder not required)
- Ethernet connection and integrated safe inputs/outputs
### Performance and Safety
The frequency inverters enable encoderless control of highly efficient IE5+ synchronous motors. The CFC open-loop injection method allows starting with 150% overload and provides rapid accelerations. This method offers high energy efficiency, especially at partial load, and reduces material and installation costs.
### Ease of Installation and Maintenance
The modular system allows the user to easily choose between motor-mounted and wall-mounted frequency inverters. Integrated functions simplify installation and maintenance processes by reducing wiring work. This allows for the creation of less complex system architectures with expanded performance.
