The structural integrity of the sensors comes from their one-piece stainless steel housing of V2A/AISI 303 quality. This design directly resists corrosive chemicals and industrial oils, while maintaining operational integrity under mechanical pressure up to 100 bar. Additionally, the cable entry is hermetically sealed to prevent moisture ingress. These physical attributes enable the sensors to achieve IP68 and IP69K protection ratings, documenting their ability to withstand continuous dust exposure, submersion, and high-pressure washdown procedures typical in harsh industrial sectors. This robust construction minimizes hardware degradation, directly reducing maintenance requirements and operational downtime associated with sensor failure.
🎯 Factor 1 Technology for Consistent Sensing Distances
A key technical feature of the system is the integration of Factor 1 technology, which normalizes the sensing distance across different metal types. Unlike conventional inductive sensors that experience reduced sensing ranges when switching from ferrous to non-ferrous metals, these sensors maintain equal sensing distances for both steel and aluminum targets. This capability simplifies installation in mixed-material environments and reduces the need for continuous recalibration. The sensors provide sensing distances of up to 40 millimeters and are produced in standard industrial housing formats such as M8, M12, M18, M30, and C23. This physical flexibility allows integration into various machine configurations without requiring extensive mechanical redesign.

Both Contrinex and Turck systems utilize multi-coil Factor 1 technology to achieve uniform sensing distances of up to 40 millimeters across different metals without manual adjustment. However, Contrinex prioritizes mechanical resistance to extreme pressure, explicitly rating the sensor face for 100 bar pressure. In contrast, while IFM Electronic offers competitive full-metal, IP68, and IP69K rated sensors, these are typically manufactured using V4A (AISI 316L) stainless steel to target food and beverage hygienic compliance.
