🤖 NEURA Robotics and SECO Announce Major Collaboration in Physical AI! 🚀

    NEURA Robotics and SECO Join Forces to Scale Physical AI in Europe!​


    German robotics giant NEURA Robotics and Italian embedded systems specialist SECO S.p.A. have announced a strategic partnership for the industrialization and scaling of Physical AI in Europe. Under this collaboration, SECO will design, develop, and manufacture electronic computing modules integrating Qualcomm Dragonwing™ processors for NEURA's cognitive robot portfolio, especially for the humanoid robot 4NE1. This will support the transition to mass production in Europe.

    Why This Collaboration? 🤔​


    Bringing embedded AI and humanoid robots from laboratory environments to high-volume industrial settings presents significant technical challenges. High on-device AI performance, thermal efficiency, and ultra-low latency control in decentralized hardware architectures are crucial for cognitive robots that can work safely with humans. Furthermore, establishing robust, localized supply chains for high-volume production is of paramount importance.

    To meet these hardware integration and scaling requirements, a collaboration has been established between NEURA Robotics and SECO. This alliance aims to advance Europe's technological sovereignty in Physical AI by combining NEURA's cognitive robotics platform, SECO's embedded engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and Qualcomm Technologies' edge processors.

    Technical Solution and Responsibilities 🛠️​


    The technical architecture focuses on a decentralized "Brain + Nervous System" model, supported by NEURA's "Intelligent Limbs" concept. This model distributes computing and sensing modules throughout the robot's physical structure, preventing concentration in a central unit. Responsibilities between the companies are divided as follows:

    • NEURA Robotics: Provides the overall Physical AI system architecture, the cognitive software stack, and robotic platforms, including the 4NE1 humanoid robot.
    • SECO S.p.A.: Manages the design, engineering, qualification, and high-volume production in Europe of embedded electronic computing modules integrating Qualcomm Dragonwing processors.
    • Qualcomm Technologies: Supplies the core Dragonwing Robotics processors, enabling on-device AI processing and low-latency motor control.

    At the system level, placing computing modules close to joints and sensors enables decentralized, real-time decision-making at points of physical interaction. This localized responsiveness allows robots to operate safely and adaptably in collaborative human work environments. The modules serve as a standardized hardware backbone across NEURA's product family and connect with the Neuraverse ecosystem, ensuring that learned capabilities can be reused as building blocks for automated systems.

    Implementation and Roadmap 🗺️​


    The implementation strategy focuses on establishing European production lines for computing hardware and initiating phased deployment programs in industrial manufacturing. Initial development will prioritize automation solutions for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing facilities, utilizing operational feedback from active robot deployments to train machines in complex production workflows.

    As part of the roadmap, the partners plan to establish a NEURA Gym in Italy, which will serve as NEURA's first robotics training center in Southern Europe. This facility will collect real-world production data and validate robot operational policies in authentic physical environments, supporting the scalable deployment of 4NE1 humanoid robots and cognitive robots to industrial facilities worldwide.
