Syspro officials stated that Torque aims to help their customers overcome challenges in their ERP systems. Users can define what they want from an agent within Torque's chat feature, and the platform can create this agent without the need for manual coding.

Torque can work with any ERP system and can consolidate order, inventory, production schedule, supplier, and shop floor data. It can also connect with existing MES, SCADA, and warehouse systems.

Company leaders stated that they adopted a "transparent house" principle when developing Torque, focusing on providing manufacturers with the highest level of visibility as AI is adopted.

Dan Abramson, Senior Vice President of Syspro Americas, noted that small and medium-sized manufacturers have some reservations about trusting and adopting AI. "Our goal is to think about how we can help our customers use this tool and advance along the AI maturity curve," he said.

Creed Grimm, Vice President of Presales at Syspro, emphasized that another feature distinguishing Torque from other platforms is the degree of completeness it offers to customers. "We talk a lot about the AI maturity curve, and we can help customers who need information to make better procurement decisions but don't want to make those purchases on their own. We can meet them where they are," he added.

Abramson stated that Torque is being launched at a time when manufacturing companies in industries are implementing AI, but this implementation often comes with uncertainties. Scaling AI platforms, using accurate data, and ensuring return on investment (ROI) are among the most significant concerns for manufacturers. Torque aims to provide greater certainty as users develop their own agents.

Furthermore, global trends such as labor shortages, tariffs, and supply chain uncertainties are making the environment even more unpredictable for manufacturing companies. Abramson said this situation is part of their emphasis on transparency.

According to Syspro, Torque provides manufacturers with a preliminary cost estimate before running each workflow, sets the appropriate rhythm for their operations, and allows them to track what each agent provides.

Abramson said, "The transparent house aspect, whether it's trust, governance, or the decisions behind AI, we present all of this clearly to our customers. So, understanding who made a decision, how much a workflow costs in terms of tokens and credits, providing that visibility, is a really big aspect of our differentiation.
