HMS Networks Acquires Spanish Robot S.A.
HMS Industrial Networks SLU, a subsidiary of HMS Industrial Networks AB, has announced a friendly public takeover bid for Spanish building automation specialist Robot S.A. With this acquisition, Robot S.A., which has a strong position particularly in the hotel sector, aims to expand HMS's Building Automation offering and create new business opportunities focused on the hospitality industry.
About Robot S.A.
Based in Palma de Mallorca, Robot S.A. has been active in the field of building automation since 1983. The company develops and offers Building Management Systems (BMS) that help hotels and other large buildings control energy resources, room comfort, lighting, water, and common areas. Robot S.A. currently employs 65 people.
Expanding Building Automation Opportunities for HMS
This acquisition carries significant business potential for HMS. Robot's products complement HMS's existing Building Automation brand, Intesis, adding guest room management and broader building management capabilities for the hospitality market. Together, these two offerings will be able to provide hotels and system integrators with a more complete solution, from communication gateways to HVAC integration, room control, energy optimization, and common area management.
Robot's long experience in hotel automation is particularly valuable. The company has been developing solutions for building owners, hotel operators, and guests since 1983. Its systems support technical staff in controlling energy generation and distribution, while allowing guests to manage comfort functions such as temperature and lighting in their rooms. This strengthens HMS's ability to support customers who want smarter, more energy-efficient, and more easily manageable buildings.
Global Growth Opportunities
The acquisition also creates growth opportunities beyond Robot's current markets. HMS sees the potential to leverage its global sales and support footprint to bring Robot's proven hospitality solutions to more regions, including established HMS markets such as APAC and the Middle East. At the same time, Robot brings additional know-how, customer experience, and product capabilities to HMS's Building Automation division.

What's Next?
As Robot S.A. is a publicly listed company in Spain, the process of concluding the offer and delisting will take some time. HMS has announced the public takeover bid and will proceed with the formal process according to applicable Spanish requirements. Completion is expected around December 1st. Once completed, the acquisition is expected to strengthen HMS's position in Building Automation and support the BA division's growth targets in attractive verticals such as hotels and other energy-intensive buildings.
