    ⚙️ Dual-Mode Operation and Process Transparency​


    The optical sensing units can operate in two distinct modes: standard input/output (SIO) mode or IO-Link mode. In SIO mode, the hardware functions automatically using pre-set switching points, offering a tamper-proof mechanical design without external operating buttons. When switched to IO-Link mode, the smart sensor ecosystem allows operators to access continuous diagnostic data, including signal quality feedback indicating sensing stability. This dual functionality ensures process transparency while preventing unintended changes to established settings. This mechanical security is critical for standardized machine series applications where sensor replacement must occur quickly without requiring product-specific knowledge or repetition of teach-in sequences.

    🔵 BlueLight Technology and Optical Optimization​


    Designed for challenging optical tasks, the sensors utilize short-wavelength blue light emission to detect materials that absorb standard red light. This mechanism makes the devices suitable for identifying black, high-gloss, and translucent targets, such as transparent films frequently used in automated labeling processes. With IO-Link integration, the light spot geometry has been expanded. The larger emission spot eliminates minor surface irregularities, ensuring more stable and reliable object detection in variable ambient conditions.

    The inclusion of the IO-Link protocol enables logic processing to occur directly at the sensor level. Available smart functions include On and Off Delay timers, along with an internal counting mechanism. These features allow control engineers to tailor the hardware to specific application timings and throughput requirements, thereby offloading basic data processing from the central programmable logic controller while preserving the fundamental fixed-focus commissioning model.

    🔍 Technical Details and Competitive Analysis​


    In the industrial automation market, blue light photoelectric sensors are specifically positioned against standard red light and laser sensors. Competitors such as Sick and Baumer offer similar IO-Link enabled blue light devices designed for highly light-absorbent or angular reflective surfaces. The standard benchmark for these sensors is the absorption rate of the target material; blue light emitted at a wavelength of approximately 450 to 460 nanometers disperses more effectively on dark or porous surfaces compared to standard red light at 650 nanometers. This results in a higher energy return to the receiver array. While laser sensors offer smaller spot sizes for micro-parts, the expanded light spot geometry of fixed-focus blue light sensors provides superior reading stability when scanning textured, glossy, or irregular packaging materials.
