📊 Overcoming Data Silos​

According to the two companies, the core problem is that live operational data often remains with operations teams, while maintenance history, outage plans, spare parts, equipment capacity, and investment priorities are located elsewhere. For example, when a reliability engineer detects an anomaly, the maintenance planner has only partial information, making it difficult to determine if a similar failure has occurred before or if it is a one-off event.

This situation triggers important questions such as, "Should similar failures be expected at other facilities? Should the asset be repaired, its maintenance deferred, or replaced?"

Last November, IFS introduced Loops, a suite of agent AI "digital workers" programmed with common skills such as field dispatch, supplier coordination, customer order management, and inventory replenishment. Its purpose is stated as freeing up human labor from more mundane tasks or "working alongside employees to improve operational performance by reducing manual work."
