Corvus Robotics has announced Corvus Trident, a new AI-powered device set to revolutionize warehouse management. This innovative system seamlessly records every movement of each pallet entering the warehouse, from its reception to placement on the shelf, replenishment, picking, and shipment.
Warehouse systems typically rely on data obtained from inventory scans. However, when scans are skipped, delayed, or performed inconsistently, inventory records deviate from the actual situation. This leads to common problems for operators and managers: chargebacks, shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, losses, and limited visibility into the true state of the facility.
Corvus Trident is designed to fill this gap. Thanks to its built-in AI and industrial-grade scanning capabilities, the device can read multiple barcodes simultaneously. By tracking pallet and equipment movements in real-time, it creates a continuous record of inventory movement without operators needing to stop and perform manual scans.
Corvus Trident can be directly mounted on forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment (MHE). This allows it to automatically capture pallet movements during normal operations. According to Corvus, warehouses can track pallets throughout the entire operational flow, from the moment they enter the facility until they exit.
The device can read up to three pallet heights, provides motion tracking without the need for GPS, markers, or beacons, and offers real-time visual and auditory feedback to operators.
