Metal packaging manufacturers are increasingly turning to automated inspection and data-driven traceability solutions to ensure product quality and compliance. In this context, Antares Vision Group is introducing AI-powered inspection and barcoding technologies for can production at Metpack 2026.

    ### Inspection Technologies in the Production Process
At the event, numerous machine vision systems developed for different production stages will be presented. The Cyclops system performs in-line inspection to detect structural and surface defects during the production of bottom and lid components used in food and beverage cans.

The DecoMatch device, on the other hand, offline inspects the color consistency and print quality of printed patterns on beverage cans. The PolyView CTI system, designed for aerosol cans, examines the dimensional accuracy and surface integrity of the can's neck and rim area, guaranteeing sealing performance.

These systems meet the critical quality control requirements for product safety, shelf life, and functionality in the food, beverage, and aerosol packaging sectors.

    ### Machine Vision and Traceability Integration
In addition to inspection hardware, Antares Vision Group also offers barcoding and end-to-end traceability solutions throughout the digital supply chain. This allows manufacturers to effectively manage regulatory compliance and recall processes by tracking products individually or by batch during production and distribution.

Artificial intelligence analyzes visual patterns and production data to increase defect detection accuracy and reduce false positives in inspection processes. This ensures consistent quality control results in high-speed production environments.

    ### Standardized Inspection Performance in Can Production
The introduced technologies have been developed by Applied Vision Corporation, part of Antares Vision Group, and focus on machine vision systems specifically for container manufacturing. These systems are designed to meet the demands for inspection accuracy, operational efficiency, and ease of use in industrial environments.

This approach, which combines in-line inspection, offline analysis, and traceability functions, indicates the widespread adoption of integrated quality control in packaging production. It supports manufacturers in ensuring product consistency while managing complex production processes.
