π‘ New Voltage Options and Expanding Application Areas
TDK has expanded the operational scope of its D1SE DIN rail power supplies by adding 12, 48, and 72-volt output variants to its existing portfolio. These new devices are designed to power various applications such as complex automation networks, industrial telemetry connections, and multi-axis kinetic systems from a single-phase power architecture. This makes power distribution in industrial facilities more integrated and efficient.

π‘οΈ Uncompromising Performance in Isolation and Compatibility
The updated component family has been developed to provide robust galvanic isolation and strict electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in dense electrical equipment enclosures. The units offer 5000 Vdc input-output isolation, a 3100 Vdc input-ground barrier, and a 750 Vdc output-ground threshold. To ensure stability in grid integration, they limit harmonic current distortion in accordance with EN 61000-3-2 Class A criteria, while maintaining a 4 k Vac asymmetric overvoltage rating per IEC 61000-4-5 guidelines.
Furthermore, electrical assemblies suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) by meeting EN 55011-B and CISPR11-B radiated and conducted emission limits with wide operating margins. Safety and structural architectural validations comply with universal hardware benchmarks, including IEC, EN, UL, and CSA 61010-1 and 61010-2-201 and the 62368-1 third edition standard.

π‘οΈ Thermal Efficiency and High Power Tolerance
Internal power conversion topologies provide up to 96% thermal conversion efficiency, minimizing local heat dissipation in unventilated control cabinets. This ensures predictable field service life by limiting the thermal degradation of heat-sensitive components such as internal electrolytic capacitors. The convection-cooled chassis operates in an ambient temperature range of -25 to +70 Β°C, implementing a linear output derating configuration when operating above 55 Β°C.
To accommodate high inrush currents from inductive or capacitive downstream loads, the power supplies have transient boost power capabilities of up to 150%. Notably, the 48-volt, 480 W variant tolerates peak transient draws of 600 W for up to 200 seconds, allowing the network to absorb sudden load changes without triggering overcurrent protection shutdowns.

βοΈ Automated Wiring and Telemetry Integration
Physical installation times are minimized thanks to the integration of tool-free, push-in wire terminations on the front panel terminals. These high vibration-resistant terminals facilitate quick manual wiring and support automated robotic placement in high-volume wire harness production. Physical dimensions feature space-saving case widths of 38 mm for 120 W models, 44 mm for 240 W models, and 60 mm for 480 W models, maximizing component density along the horizontal mounting rail.
Engineers can specify an optional protective card overlay, called the A5 variant, which includes an integrated closed-contact relay to provide discrete DC OK status signals. This hardware configuration allows terminal devices to operate from nominal AC mains inputs between 85 and 264 Vac or common DC bus voltages between 93 and 300 Vdc, enabling flexible integration with central batteries or redundant distribution buses.

π Competitive Advantages and Market Position
In the industrial DIN rail power supply market, the TDK-Lambda D1SE series competes with alternatives such as RECOM RACPRO1-S or Siemens Sitop Lite. The TDK-Lambda series maintains its advantage in extended peak loading; the 480 W model sustains a 600 W boost for up to 200 seconds, while traditional commercial alternatives typically limit 120% or 150% overloads to transient windows between 5 and 10 seconds.
Additionally, the 5000 Vdc input-output isolation rating exceeds the 3000 Vac or 4200 Vdc thresholds often seen in standard entry-level industrial power blocks. However, rival units like the RACPRO1-S achieve narrower physical footprints in certain mid-level power classes; with a 39 mm width for 240 W output, compared to the D1SE series' 44 mm case. This difference represents a balance between absolute spatial reduction on the mounting rail and extended thermal durability.
This expansion of the TDK-Lambda D1SE series offers a significant option for businesses seeking both flexibility and durability in industrial power conversion solutions. High efficiency, advanced isolation, and intelligent integration capabilities form a powerful solution package designed to meet the demands of modern industrial environments.
