What is CNC Technology?

CNC machines have become one of the cornerstones of modern manufacturing and are now standard in industrial production. Thanks to their high precision, flexible production capabilities, time savings, and quality control advantages, they are used in a wide range of industries, from automotive to aerospace, defense to medical device manufacturing.

This technology not only increases production speed and cost-effectiveness but is also considered a strategic element that directly impacts global competitiveness. Therefore, the importance of CNC technology in industry is growing every day, and with evolving software and hardware, it is frequently used in production processes.

What are the Advantages of CNC Technology?​

One of the advantages of CNC technology is that the production process can be continued uninterrupted and adaptably. Even if the machine loses power, existing programs and processing data are preserved. Subsequently, if a cutting tool breaks, machining can resume from where it left off with a different sized cutter. Features like cutter compensation automatically correct dimensional deviations, and surface quality reaches much higher levels compared to conventional machines. Furthermore, it enables seamless integration with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing systems.

CNC machine tools are essentially an advanced version of Numerical Control systems developed with computer technology. Common machine types equipped with CNC include lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, boring machines, and grinding machines.

Although these machines resemble NC machines in terms of physical design, they offer much higher efficiency thanks to software-based control capabilities and advanced functions. For example, in CNC machines, programs can be stored in memory, edited when needed, and flexibly used through sub-programs at different stages of production.
