In collaboration with the Reshoring Initiative and Regions Recruiting, a comprehensive survey has been launched in the US to examine the factors influencing manufacturers' decisions to bring factories and supply chains back to the country. This survey is being released at a critical time during efforts to strengthen the US's weakened manufacturing infrastructure.
The survey, launched in March 2026, will remain open until mid-June and will gather valuable insights from manufacturing operations, supply chain, and procurement decision-makers, as well as contract manufacturers.
Harry Moser, founder of the Reshoring Initiative, noted that the 2025 survey focused on potential policy changes, while emphasizing that the 2026 survey addresses the real impacts of policies such as taxes, tariffs, and artificial intelligence, as well as the need for a skilled workforce and education systems. Moser stated, "Reshoring job announcements, which were 11,000 per year in 2010, increased to 244,000 annually in 2025. Our nation's economy and national security require more reshoring and a strong workforce."
Kathy Nunnally, director at Regions Recruiting, pointed out that the pandemic and tensions with Iran highlighted the fragility of supply chains. Nunnally stated that OEM customers continue to develop strategies for supply chain resilience, which bodes well for domestic contract manufacturers.
