Datalogic, a leader in industrial automation and automated data capture, has introduced its new fiber laser marking system, the AREX400 AF. This system significantly simplifies production processes by eliminating the need for manual refocusing when marking parts of different heights.
### Key Features of the AREX400 AF
- Instant focus adjustment is possible via the marking software thanks to software-controlled Adjustable Focus technology.
- The working range has been extended from ±20 mm to ±60 mm, allowing for unattended processing of multi-surface parts with varying heights.
- While traditional laser marking systems require manual focusing, the AREX400 AF enables operators to process parts with different geometries in seconds using LIGHTER™ 9 software.
- Multi-layered parts and parts with different heights can be marked in a single cycle; no additional fixed/commissioned axes or special fixtures are needed.
- Distance adjustment can be made instantly via software during product or batch changes, ensuring uninterrupted production lines.
- The lightweight 3.5 kg scanning head and robotic-grade cabling provide an ideal configuration for robotic applications and marking on the fly.
- Its compact design with IP64 protection class allows for easy integration into cramped production lines and robotic environments.
- It provides high safety and durability with a TÜV-certified Solid-State Safe Laser Off (SLO) module, allowing for numerous safety cycles without wear-related failures.
Lorenzo Bassi, Product Manager for Laser Marking in Datalogic's Automation Industry, stated that the AREX400 AF has become an innovative solution between 2D and 3D laser marking technologies, adding, "This system offers flexibility and cost advantages in producing permanent and durable marks on multi-step workpieces."
The AREX400 AF enhances flexibility in laser marking, enabling manufacturers to explore new frontiers in automation.
