    ## SEEPEX Powers Biogas Production in Europe's Energy Transition
The European biogas and biomethane sector is gaining new momentum due to climate policies and energy security concerns. SEEPEX's expanded BTEX and BN pump series offer durable solutions that increase biomethane yield while reducing maintenance costs.

Under the European Commission's REPowerEU program, biomethane production is targeted to reach 35 billion cubic meters annually by 2030. This goal will strengthen regional energy independence by reducing reliance on fossil gas.

    ### European Framework and Biomethane Potential
As of 2023, biogas and biomethane production in the EU is estimated at a total of 22 billion cubic meters. Biomethane alone shows strong growth at approximately 5 billion cubic meters. To achieve the target, production capacity must be rapidly increased, permitting processes simplified, and the investment chain coordinated.

    ### Efficient Biogas Production with SEEPEX Technology
Effective pre-treatment and feeding of biomass pulp are critical for maximizing biogas yield. SEEPEX progressive cavity pumps and macerators reduce particle size to enhance microbial digestion and control nutrient flow.

European facilities encounter challenging substrates such as manure, straw, bedding materials, stones, and wood, all with high solid content. SEEPEX minimizes these challenges through the use of durable materials and optimized hopper and housing geometries.

    ### SEEPEX BTEX Pump Features
    • Wide open hopper and reinforced screw helix
    • Compression housing acting as a solid separator
    • Movable housing for easy maintenance
    • Reinforced components for highly abrasive and heavy materials
    • Maximum durability and reliability

    ### Increased Capacity with New BTEX and BN Pump Sizes
SEEPEX has expanded its pump series to meet the increasing flow and challenging substrate requirements across Europe: 5–20 m³/h, 10–40 m³/h, 20–80 m³/h, and the new 40–160 m³/h.

These pumps are ideal for large volume flows, seasonal peaks, and short-term campaigns, and are particularly used in agricultural, industrial, and municipal biogas plants.

    ### Efficiency Through Optimized Pre-Mixing
The advantage of BTEX pumps is their optimized pre-mixing capability in the hopper and inlet section. Homogeneous mixing of dry and fibrous materials with liquids minimizes settling and clumping.

    This results in:
    • Stabilized microbial activity
    • Reduced energy consumption for internal mixing
    • Shorter residence time in the fermenter
    • Increased biogas yield

    ### SEEPEX and Karlskoga Energi Collaboration
At the Karlskoga Energi biogas plant in Sweden, SEEPEX pumps were used in the high-viscosity substrate transport process. Through pump monitoring and process optimization, maintenance costs were reduced, spare part life was extended, and operational efficiency increased.

    ### Looking Ahead
With new pump sizes and technologies, SEEPEX aims to improve efficiency, stability, and economic performance in European biogas and biomethane plants. This will enable biomethane to play a critical role in continental decarbonization and energy security goals.

Bernd-Guntram Schulz, SEEPEX Product and Market Manager Biogas: "High flow rates, robust construction, efficient pre-mixing, and ease of maintenance make our pumps ideal for operators. This results in more reliable processes, lower costs, and higher yields."

SEEPEX will continue to contribute to Europe's sustainable energy transition with reliable pump technology and comprehensive application expertise.
