✨ Next-Generation Automation and Monitoring Systems in Heat Treatment
JUMO will showcase its comprehensive portfolio of solutions at HärtereiKongress in Cologne (October 13-15, 2026), addressing the increasing demands for traceability, energy efficiency, and compliance with international standards in the heat treatment sector. The exhibition will focus on end-to-end digital architectures that enable industrial furnace operators to ensure seamless process documentation and precise control.
📈 Automated Temperature Recording and Batch Tracking
At the forefront of technological innovations is the JUMO LOGOSCREEN 700 paperless screen recorder with integrated TUS (Temperature Uniformity Surveys) functionality. This solution automates the collection, evaluation, and documentation of temperature data, significantly streamlining documentation efforts and audit processes. Furthermore, the modular automation system JUMO variTRON, with its new "Process Technology" application and input modules specifically designed for thermocouples, offers special functions for batch recording. JUMO Sales Manager Matthias Weise emphasizes that these digitalization steps provide end-to-end traceability in production workflows and enhance operational transparency.
🛡️ Functional Safety and Precise Power Control
Functional safety is of paramount importance in heat treatment, as it combines high temperatures with critical process parameters. For reliable monitoring of safety-related temperatures, JUMO introduces the JUMO safetyM TA safety temperature limiter, which effectively protects equipment, workpieces, and operating personnel and supports modern safety architectures. To ensure energy-efficient and stable plant operations, the JUMO TYA BL30x and HL30x thyristor power controllers complete the portfolio. These power controllers provide high-precision control of electrical heating systems in industrial furnaces, which is critical for maintaining accurate temperature profiles and ensuring consistent product quality.
🔬 TUS Tests and Metallurgical Process Safety
In safety-critical industries such as aerospace (AMS 2750) or automotive manufacturing (CQI-9), Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) are mandatory to verify the temperature distribution within the furnace volume. Even small thermal deviations during heat treatment (such as quenching or tempering) can alter the crystalline microstructure of the metal and severely impair the mechanical load-bearing capacity of the final product. Manual evaluation of measurement data from numerous thermocouples is extremely time-consuming. By integrating TUS algorithms directly into digital screen recorders, the complex calculation of tolerance bands, extreme values, and dwell times is fully automated. This generates instantly compliant, tamper-proof records, allowing plant operators to minimize setup times and definitively prove process capability during rigorous quality audits.
