🛠️ Smart Solution for High-Pressure Cylinders
Contrinex has introduced a new generation of smart cylinder position sensors specifically designed for hydraulic cylinders. These sensors transform traditional cylinder monitoring into a data-rich, intelligent process.
💪 Resistant to Harsh Conditions
Developed for the demanding requirements of industrial environments, these robust sensors can withstand continuous operating pressures of up to 500 bar and peak pressures of up to 1000 bar.
🧠 Digital Learning and Advanced Monitoring
Going beyond simple piston position sensing, these smart sensors offer digital learning capabilities. This allows switching points to be quickly configured via IO-Link or the PocketCodr tool, without the need for complex mechanical adjustments.
📈 Track Performance, Prevent Failures
The most significant feature distinguishing these sensors is their ability to actively track cylinder performance over time. Thanks to an integrated cycle counter and customizable alarm thresholds, continuous temperature monitoring is performed to detect overheating events caused by friction. This data is transmitted to automation systems via IO-Link, enabling maintenance teams to identify operating trends, predict seal wear, and plan service interventions before failures occur.
💡 From Traditional to Smart
While traditional cylinder sensors only indicate whether the piston has reached the end of its stroke, Contrinex's new sensors provide detailed information about the mechanical health of the cylinder. For example, if a hydraulic seal begins to degrade or internal friction increases, the cylinder will operate hotter and take longer to complete its stroke. A traditional switch would not be able to detect this situation until the cylinder completely failed.
🌐 Integration with IO-Link
Contrinex's smart sensors process critical telemetry data such as temperature increases and precise cycle counts directly on the sensor, without burdening the central PLC. Thanks to standardized, bidirectional communication protocols like IO-Link, this diagnostic data can be easily transferred to higher-level ERP or SCADA systems to automate spare parts orders and plan predictive maintenance during scheduled downtimes.
