NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, which initially considered motor production as an addition to gear units, is now achieving global success in this field. Annually, it produces over 1 million motors from its manufacturing facilities, offering standard and customized motor solutions to more than 100 industries.

History and Production Capacity​

NORD, which started producing its own motors in 1983, has now reached an annual production capacity of over one million units. It manufactures asynchronous motors from 0.12 kW to 55 kW and synchronous motors from 0.5 kW to 11 kW in three different factories. This wide product range offers flexible and accessible solutions for the diverse needs of the industry.

Wide Range of Applications​

NORD motors are used in many areas, from energy-intensive motors operating continuously in intralogistics to NXD tupH® treated smooth motors for washable areas in the food industry. Additionally, explosion-proof versions compliant with ATEX, IECEx, and HazLoc standards for conveyor systems in dusty or gaseous atmospheres are also included in the product range.

Peak Efficiency: IE5+ Technology​

NORD's efficiency portfolio covers motors in different efficiency classes from IE3 to IE5, ensuring full compliance with international efficiency regulations. Especially the IE5+ permanent magnet synchronous motor offers efficiency beyond even the highest IE class. For customers who want to upgrade their existing systems to a higher efficiency class, NORD offers an easy transition without the need for mechanical changes, thanks to identical motor dimensions.

Global Accessibility and Fast Delivery​

With factories in Italy, Poland, and China, NORD has an international production network. Thanks to motor assembly facilities in North and South America, India, and Australia, it provides fast delivery times for national and international projects. NORD motors are offered with international approval and acceptance documents, allowing, for example, the asynchronous UNIVERSAL motor and the IE5+ synchronous motor to be integrated worldwide without significant changes in system and machine design. This simplifies and accelerates system commissioning processes.
