Southco is a leading global designer and manufacturer offering the broadest portfolio of access hardware solutions, including latches, locks, fasteners, hinges, and display mounts. We pride ourselves on providing innovative access solutions that enhance our customers' products across many industries, such as transportation, industrial applications, medical equipment, and data centers. We have a global presence with over 3,500 employees and 18 locations across the Americas, Europe, India, and Asia Pacific.

Our extensive product range allows us to work with companies from a wide variety of sectors. By collaborating closely with our customers, we listen to their application requirements and provide solutions tailored to their needs. 📈 Market Changes and New Opportunities​

Global macro trends such as digitalization, electrification, and sustainability have led to significant design changes in applications. These changes are reflected at the component level, right down to the choice of access hardware used by our customers.

• Transformation in the Automotive Sector: Traditional areas like glove compartment locking mechanisms require smart and connected solutions as they transition to digital cockpits. Southco offers electric actuators suitable for this new environment.
  
• New Areas in Electric Vehicles: The "frunk" (front trunk) area and charging ports of electric vehicles create new application opportunities for access hardware. Southco offers torque hinges and highly engineered locking mechanisms for these areas.
  
• Innovation in Data Centers: Innovative concepts such as liquid cooling bring very specific requirements for latches and fasteners. Southco has developed 3D floating blind-mate quick-connect adapters for liquid-cooled servers, preventing friction and leakage.
  

🔄 Evolution in Our Product Portfolio: From Mechanical to Electronic​

In response to the market's increasing needs for security and safety, Southco began to integrate its product range from purely mechanical latches with electronic actuation. This journey, which began two decades ago, has today resulted in Southco offering a versatile platform of electromechanical latches, hardware interfaces, and electronic and remote access controllers utilizing RFID cards, PIN codes, and Bluetooth technology.

• Keypanion App: Most recently, we launched Keypanion, a free app that allows you to wirelessly access your equipment anytime, anywhere. This plug-and-play solution has a wide range of applications, from urban bike shelters to controlled medication cabinets.
  
• Connected Access: Southco is undergoing a rebranding process to launch its new series of electronic access solutions under the name Connected Access later this year.
