✨ A New Era in Open Process Automation

Yokogawa Electric Corporation has announced a first in the process industry: its OpreX Open Automation SI Kit has received compliance certification with the OPC Unified Architecture profile of the Open Process Automation Standard. This development is considered a significant step for the industry.

🤝 Vendor Independence and Flexibility

Open Process Automation (OPA) is an initiative that promotes an open, secure, and interoperable process control architecture, enabling the flexible integration of devices and software from different manufacturers. With Yokogawa's receipt of this certification, systems can be built without being tied to a single vendor, offering significant advantages in terms of both flexibility and scalability.

✅ What Does OPC UA Certification Mean?

This OPC UA certification, issued by the OPC Foundation, officially confirms that version 1.02.10 of Yokogawa's Open Automation SI Kit is compliant with the OPC UA client/server communication profile defined in the O-PAS standard. This means that systems installed with the Open Automation SI Kit can provide standard, reliable communication and data exchange. According to Yokogawa officials, this certification will enable seamless interoperability between O-PAS components supplied by Yokogawa and other vendors.

🌍 Global Collaboration and Future Vision

As a member of OPAF, which consists of 95 companies and other organizations, Yokogawa has carried out numerous OPA-related demonstration projects in collaboration with major oil companies. This certification once again highlights Yokogawa's vision for open automation and its contribution to the industry.
