🌟 Discover Next-Generation EtherCAT Drives from Dunkermotoren!
Dunkermotoren has expanded its EtherCAT drive portfolio, shaping the future of industrial automation! Integrated and modular solutions are now available for scalable motion control from 10W to 5,000W. These innovations promise greater flexibility and performance for machine builders.
⚙️ Design Freedom with Flexible Architectures
To meet the diverse needs of machine builders, Dunkermotoren offers two different EtherCAT application approaches:
- Integrated dPro Drives: Combine the motor, encoder, drive electronics, and EtherCAT interface in a single housing. This reduces wiring complexity and enables compact machine designs.
- Modular dCore Motors: These motors, which can be paired with external EtherCAT controllers (e.g., BGE 5510 dPro EC), are ideal for applications where the control electronics need to be positioned separately from the motor. A perfect solution for challenging environments with high vibration or temperature!
⚡ Superior Performance with Real-Time Communication
EtherCAT revolutionizes multi-axis motion control thanks to low latency and minimal jitter. Dunkermotoren's EtherCAT drives support CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE) and the CiA 402 motion control profile, ensuring easy integration with existing automation platforms.
- Packaging and Labeling: Precise positioning and product handling.
- Warehouse Automation: Enhanced synchronization in sorting and shuttle applications.
- Material Handling: Stable operation even in frequent acceleration and deceleration cycles.
💡 Simplified Machine Design
EtherCAT integration simplifies machine architecture. Daisy-chain topology with standard Ethernet cabling reduces wiring complexity. The integrated drive concept embeds the drive electronics directly into the motor, eliminating the need for separate servo drives. This means more compact machines, shorter installation times, and lower system complexity.
🔍 Seamless Diagnostics and Safety
With Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE) support, engineers can access drive parameters and diagnostic data without interrupting real-time communication. This enables faster commissioning, easier parameter adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Safety is also a priority! Dunkermotoren offers Safe Torque Off (STO) as a standard hardware feature across its entire EtherCAT-enabled drive portfolio. This reduces the need for external safety components, allowing for more compact and safer machine designs.
🌍 Wide Range of Applications
These new drives can be used in many industrial automation applications such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), warehouse automation systems, and packaging and labeling machines. As Andreas Winterhalter states, this portfolio offers machine builders the ability to standardize on a single communication technology and choose between integrated, modular, or hybrid drive architectures.
