A significant development has occurred in the world of industrial automation! Yokogawa's OpreX Open Automation SI Kit has achieved a first by receiving OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) profile compliance certification for Open Process Automation (OPA) systems. The company states that this achievement is a first in the process industry.
So, what exactly is OPA? 🤔 This initiative, led by The Open Group Open Process Automation Forum (OPAF), promotes an open, secure, and interoperable process control architecture that allows devices and software from different manufacturers to be flexibly integrated.
Version 1.02.10 of Yokogawa's Open Automation SI Kit has officially proven its full compliance with the OPC UA client/server communication profile (OCF-001: O-PAS Connectivity Framework) defined in the O-PAS standard through this certification. What does this mean? In short, systems equipped with this kit enable seamless interoperability between Yokogawa and other vendors' O-PAS components by providing standard and reliable communication and data exchange. This opens the door to a new era in industrial automation! 🏭
