In an innovative step in industrial machine vision, IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH and Prophesee SA are expanding their collaboration to develop next-generation industrial cameras that integrate event-based vision technology.

The combination of traditional imaging with Prophesee's Metavision event-based vision technology aims to develop faster, more accurate, and energy-efficient machine vision systems.

    ### Collaboration and Development

According to the development announced on March 11, 2026, in Nuremberg, Germany, the two companies have signed a Letter of Intent building on their existing successful partnership, committing to the development of next-generation industrial vision systems. IDS combines its expertise in camera integration and multi-sensor system design with Prophesee's event-based hardware and software knowledge.

    ### New Technologies and Marketing

The joint effort will explore several technological directions aimed at bringing new capabilities to machine vision, such as high-speed motion analysis and evolving sensing technologies. Additionally, the companies plan to jointly offer IDS's camera hardware and integrated systems, along with Prophesee's sensors, development tools, and software solutions to customers, enabling customer-focused business development activities.

    ### Statements from IDS and Prophesee Executives

Jan Hartmann, CEO of IDS, stated, "Our collaboration with Prophesee has demonstrated the powerful benefits that event-based vision brings to industrial machine vision. This technology is key to the future of industrial vision." Jean Ferré, CEO of Prophesee, added, "Our sensors, developed with the open and flexible architecture of our Metavision platform, push the boundaries of machine vision by offering faster detection, high accuracy, and energy efficiency."

    ### Application Areas

With the expanded collaboration, new machine vision solutions will be developed in sectors such as industrial automation, robotics, logistics, transportation, and intelligent systems.
