## IDS and Prophesee Expand Collaboration for Next-Generation Event-Based Industrial Imaging Systems
IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH (IDS) and Prophesee SA are deepening their collaboration in event-based vision technology, aiming to develop next-generation solutions that will revolutionize industrial imaging systems.
The two companies, having signed a letter of intent at the Embedded World conference, have decided to work together on projects that will integrate Prophesee’s Metavision® event-based vision system with IDS’s industrial camera technologies. This expanded partnership will enable new machine vision capabilities such as high-speed motion analysis and emerging sensing technologies.
### Collaboration and Technological Development
By combining IDS's expertise in camera integration, multi-sensor system design, and industrial manufacturing with Prophesee's knowledge of event-based hardware and software, the goal is to develop faster, more accurate, and lower-power consumption systems. The partnership offers Prophesee's sensors, development tools, and event-based vision software stack as complementary to IDS's camera hardware and integrated systems.
Jan Hartmann (IDS CEO) emphasized that the collaboration is built on technology and shared goals, stating, "Neuromorphic sensing plays a key role in the future of industrial vision. Through close collaboration with Prophesee, we can advance this technology faster and more consistently."
Jean Ferré (Prophesee CEO) added, "With our Metavision technology and sensors, we can significantly improve machine vision performance by exploring next-generation sensing architectures."
### IDS uEye EVS Cameras and Prophesee Metavision®
- IDS uEye EVS cameras utilize Prophesee’s event-based sensing technology.
- The two companies are developing this technology for higher speed detection, accuracy, and energy efficiency.
- The new systems will be applied in sectors such as industrial automation, robotics, logistics, and smart systems.
The new collaboration aims to explore machine vision solutions across various industries by working closely with customers and partners.
