    ## Virtual Firewall and Digital I/O Modules Expand OT Network Security

Belden is offering new cybersecurity and industrial connectivity solutions to support scalable protection and device integration in IT and OT network infrastructures.

The convergence of operational technology (OT) and enterprise information technology (IT) infrastructures in industrial networks presents new challenges in terms of cybersecurity and device integration. In this context, Belden has introduced its virtual firewall platform and the first Digital Input/Output modules under the Belden brand to industrial and data center network environments.

    ### Distributed OT Cybersecurity with Virtual Firewall

Cybersecurity in industrial and OT networks requires the examination of special protocols and the protection of distributed infrastructure. Belden's next-generation Virtual Firewall, as a hardware-independent security solution, can be used in data centers, industrial networks, or operational technology environments.

This independent structure allows it to be installed wherever protection is needed across the IT/OT network architecture. Thus, as systems grow or network architectures change, the security scope can be expanded.

The system incorporates industrial cybersecurity tools such as deep packet inspection, intrusion prevention capabilities that detect abnormal network activities, and high availability configurations that provide protection in system redundancy.

With three different licensing levels, security capacity can be adjusted according to operational scale or network exposure.

    ### Digital Input/Output Modules Added to Belden's Industrial Portfolio

In addition to the cybersecurity platform, Belden introduced the LioN-X LC Digital Input/Output Modules; these modules are the first digital I/O products released under the Belden brand.

Digital Input/Output modules function as an interface between sensors and actuators and industrial control systems. In automated production lines or machine installations, these modules collect digital signals from field devices and transmit them to controllers in the industrial network.

LioN-X LC modules feature design improvements that reduce Pin 1 current; this reduces the overall power consumption of the system and increases efficiency. Lower current demand can reduce thermal load and component stress on connected field devices, thereby lowering system operating costs.

These modules expand the LioN-X product family while strengthening Belden's industrial network portfolio with field-level connectivity components.

    ### Expanding Infrastructure for Connected Industrial Systems

The combination of virtual security functions and field-level I/O connectivity indicates the increasing integration of enterprise IT infrastructure with industrial automation networks. Industrial operators demand scalable cybersecurity and reliable device integration to support distributed control architectures and digitally connected manufacturing environments.

Belden's solutions, by offering a software-based security layer for OT networks and hardware interfaces for field devices, support integrated management in modern industrial network infrastructures.
