Vention has introduced GRIIP (Generalized Robotic Industrial Intelligence Pipeline), a physical AI solution that enables the rapid and scalable deployment of autonomous robot cells in factories. This innovative system can be used in various industrial applications without requiring custom programming.

    ### What is GRIIP?
GRIIP integrates sensing, reasoning, and motion components into a single platform. It utilizes Vention's proprietary models alongside NVIDIA Foundation models. Equipped with models such as NVIDIA FoundationStereo (stereo matching) and NVIDIA FoundationPose (6-degrees-of-freedom pose estimation), the system runs on the NVIDIA Jetson-powered MachineMotion AI controller.

    ### GRIIP Features
    • 24/7 continuous operation, insensitive to light, with no degradation in system performance during a three-month testing period
    • Processing capacity of up to 5 parts per minute
    • Sub-millimeter pose estimation accuracy
    • Automatic adaptation to part geometry, surface texture, transparency, lighting, and workspace changes
    • No training data or custom dataset required; CAD files can be processed and put into operation within 15 minutes
    • Full robot cell setup can be completed in approximately 2 days
    • Wireless AI updates via WiFi or built-in LTE with MachineMotion AI

    ### How it Works
GRIIP begins by automatically digitizing and calibrating the robot's workspace. It detects parts in complex environments, performs object segmentation, and applies 6-degrees-of-freedom pose estimation to determine the exact position and orientation of the part. With the acquired data, grasp points are evaluated and ranked based on the object's geometric and accessible features.

    ### Motion Planning and Adaptability
For the selected grasp point, the motion planning layer provides collision-free and dynamically recomputed motion paths. The system allows for performance improvements through software, with foundational models that can be updated over time.

    ### Application Areas
    • Bin picking of mixed SKUs and irregularly placed items from warehouses
    • Tracking and placing moving parts on conveyors
    • Adapting to highly variable lighting conditions
    • Placing parts into trays for kitting processes
    • Depalletizing mixed pallet stacks
    • Part loading/unloading for CNC machines and presses
    • Surface finishing tasks, such as adapting tool paths for sanding operations

GRIIP standardizes automation by using the same AI pipeline across multiple factory tasks without requiring code repetition. Vention plans widespread production applications for the system in 2026 for common use in live production environments.
