## Smart Electrical Monitoring Solution for Industrial Motors
Schaeffler has expanded its OPTIME ecosystem with FAG OPTIME E-CM, an electrical condition monitoring solution for three-phase industrial motors. This system supports predictive fault detection and ensures operational continuity for equipment through sensors and cloud-based analytics.
The system monitors the electrical performance of motors used in applications such as compressors, rotary pumps, fans, blowers, and grinding machines, adding a new dimension to the early detection of mechanical and electrical faults. While the existing OPTIME ecosystem focuses on vibration analysis, FAG OPTIME E-CM allows for detailed examination of current and voltage data as well.
### Technical Specifications
- Monitorable Faults: Insulation faults, cable defects, static and dynamic eccentricities, broken rotor bars, voltage fluctuations, overcurrents
- Installation: Current sensors placed on active cables in the control panel and a central measurement unit
- Sensor Options: Split core current transformers and Rogowski coils
- Distance between sensor and measurement unit: Maximum 10 meters
- Data Transmission: Wireless data transfer via secure LTE connection
- Data Analysis: Artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms in the cloud
- Integration: Standalone operation or full integration into the existing OPTIME ecosystem
- Alert System: Notifications via mobile applications and dashboards
FAG OPTIME E-CM will be available in Europe and select Asian markets by the end of February 2026, with a gradual expansion to other global regions.
