## Secure Linux-Based Edge Platform for Automotive and Industrial Applications
Kvaser has announced Kvaser Edge, a new open, secure, and Linux-based edge computing platform that revolutionizes data collection, processing, and analysis for automotive and industrial teams.
### Next-Generation Data Processing
While traditional machine test systems rely on PC connections and large data logs, Kvaser Edge stands out as a secure Linux system offering real-time data processing capabilities. In-depth data collaboration is possible with optional cloud or desktop analysis layers.
Test engineers and fleet managers accelerate development processes and reduce unnecessary data logging by collecting only the essential data across automotive, off-highway vehicles, and industrial applications. Use cases include real-time remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, intelligent filtering and event-based logging, fleet monitoring, and off-highway vehicle telematics.
### Kvaser Edge Features
- A compact, full Linux environment that can be mounted anywhere
- Real-time filtering, data acquisition, and anomaly detection
- Powerful ARM-based Linux computer and NXP SE051C2 Secure Element
- Hardware security compliant with CRA and RED Cybersecurity standards
- Remote monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities
- Integrated GPS support for location tracking
- Container-based applications running on Kvaser Edge OS (KEOS)
- Power-loss resilient operating system suitable for vehicle conditions
- Support for multiple parallel Linux distributions and tools
### A Platform for Developers and Early Adopters
Kvaser Edge is being experienced by software partners like Alkit with new workflows that accelerate testing and development processes. The platform supports the developer ecosystem with a comprehensive SDK, documentation, and sample projects, enabling rapid integration of custom tools for automotive and industrial teams.
### Kvaser’s Innovative Mission
Built on Kvaser's years of CAN and LIN expertise, Kvaser Edge creates a new category in secure, intelligent, in-vehicle, and in-machine edge computing. Together with KEOS, it offers a scalable path to modernizing data workflows.
Kvaser Edge will be available worldwide as of February 2026.
