## Phoenix Contact's Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker with 8 mm Profile Width
Phoenix Contact has introduced a compact circuit breaker with thermal-magnetic protection and remote signaling, featuring an 8 mm width, as part of its PTCB TM series. This product saves space by combining protection and signaling in a single module.
The PTCB TM series is specifically designed for applications with high inrush currents. Available in a nominal current range from 0.5 A to 16 A and with F2 and M1 trip curves, these circuit breakers can be used in a wide range of applications, from sensitive electronic circuits to motors and transformers.
### PTCB TM Features
- Width: 8 mm
- Nominal current range: 0.5 A - 16 A
- Trip curves: F2 and M1
- Thermal-magnetic protection and signaling in a single device
- Mechanical status indicator (on/off lever)
- Integrated status signal contacts
- Optional current monitoring features
- PLC connection via digital outputs
- Ability to manage high inrush currents
- Compact design for space-saving in industrial panels
- Resistant to dust, moisture, and temperature changes with conformal coating
### Usage and Application Areas
The PTCB TM takes up little space on the DIN rail, allowing more components to be mounted in control cabinets where space is limited. The mechanical on/off lever visually indicates the circuit breaker's status even when power is off, facilitating fault detection.
Thanks to optional current monitoring, abnormal current draws can be detected early, and these signals can be transmitted to the PLC via digital outputs. This provides an advantage in local and central monitoring systems.
### QUINT POWER Integration and System Advantages
When used with Phoenix Contact QUINT POWER power supplies, PTCB TM circuit breakers support the safe operation of motors and inductive loads by providing up to six times the short-term nominal current. This ensures that in the event of a fault, only the affected circuit is disconnected, while the rest of the system continues to operate.
### Ease of Installation
The PTCB TM can be directly integrated with Phoenix Contact’s CLIPLINE complete terminal block system. This eliminates the need to set up separate structures for protection and potential distribution, making installation more organized and faster.
Phoenix Contact's new PTCB TM circuit breaker stands out as an innovative solution that saves space in industrial automation and control cabinets with its durability and compact design.
