## Optimizing Renewable Energy Production and Water Management in Vietnam with Valmet Automation
Valmet will supply automation systems for the Daklo 1 and Daklo 3 hydropower plants, which are currently under construction in Kon Plong District, Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam.
This critical automation system will control the entire hydropower process, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance electricity generation. It will also optimize water balance, increasing energy efficiency and operational effectiveness while contributing to sustainability goals.
### Project and Partner Information
Local partner Industries Equipment and Solution Company Ltd (IESC) will deliver the systems after signing a contract with the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor. IESC Deputy Director Nguyen Viet Cuong stated that Valmet was chosen due to its prestige and expertise in hydropower projects.
Huynh Quang Tuyen, Sales Manager for Valmet Automation Solutions, stated that with this project, they are increasing Valmet's contributions to Vietnam's renewable energy sector, especially in hydropower, through advanced automation systems and strong local collaborations.
### Daklo 1 and Daklo 3 Hydropower Plants
These plants, currently under construction, will have capacities of 12 MW and 22 MW, respectively, and will be significant renewable energy sources for Quang Ngai Province. These run-of-river facilities will provide clean energy to the national grid and support regional energy supply, while modern hydropower infrastructure will enable the efficient use of local water resources.
The plants are expected to begin commercial operations in the spring of 2027.
