    ## Next-Generation Thermal Imaging in Electronic Failure Analysis with the Optotherm MW640-15 MWIR Camera

Optotherm is making waves in the analysis of electronic circuit failures and microscopic temperature measurements with its high-precision MWIR thermal imaging camera, the MW640-15.

    ### Features of the Innovative Thermal Camera
The MW640-15 is specifically designed for front and backside integrated circuit (IC) failure analysis and lock-in thermography applications. Beyond standard MWIR systems, its NETD sensitivity of less than 20 mK shortens test times, while offering a resolution down to 1 micrometer, allowing for clear distinction of details in integrated circuits.

The camera features a 640 x 512 pixel 15 µm pitch MCT detector, cooled to 80 K by a Stirling engine. With frame rates of 115 Hz (full frame) and 1,550 Hz (window mode), it enables high-resolution analysis of the thermal behavior of active IC devices.

    ### MW640-15 Specifications
    • NETD sensitivity: < 20 mK
    • Detector resolution: 640 x 512 pixels
    • Pixel pitch: 15 µm
    • Cooling: 80 K with Stirling engine
    • Frame rates: 115 Hz (full frame), 1,550 Hz (window mode)
    • IC feature distinguishability: 1 µm
    • Temperature detection sensitivity: < 0.0001 °C

    ### Application Areas and System Integration
The device is suitable for hot spot detection, junction temperature measurement, and transient analysis in semiconductor devices. The MW640-15 can be used independently or integrated into the Optotherm Sentris system to provide turn-key solutions.

Rich Barton, President of Optotherm, stated, "We developed the MW640-15 for failure analysis engineers who demand high spatial resolution, precise measurements, and IC backside analysis capability."

    ### About Optotherm
Optotherm designs and manufactures cost-effective, turn-key infrared imaging systems for electronic failure analysis and temperature measurements. Its product range covers applications such as lock-in thermography, photon emission testing, junction temperature measurement, active device transient thermal analysis, and PCB troubleshooting.

Systems offered under the Sentris brand are configured for specific applications. In addition to core Sentris components, Optotherm also designs and manufactures imaging cameras, lenses, optical assemblies, test equipment, and analysis software.
