Honeywell and Rhombus are ushering in a new era in building security, responding to the growing demand for integrated cloud access and video solutions. This collaboration aims to develop a cloud-based system that simplifies multi-site management.

Announced in March 2026, the partnership sees Honeywell expanding its portfolio of cloud-connected security and access solutions with new AI-powered video solutions. This move is part of a strategy to accelerate building security modernization, which began with the acquisition of LenelS2 in 2024.

Honeywell and Rhombus will bring together integrated access control and video management on a single cloud platform, offering easy installation, scalability, and management. This merger combines the strengths of both companies, providing a reliable and resilient system.

Cloud-based security and video solutions are becoming increasingly prevalent. According to market research firm Omdia, cloud video solutions are projected to be the fastest-growing segment in the security industry, expanding by over 20% annually until 2029.

The Honeywell and Rhombus partnership aims to accelerate the cloud transition for commercial and enterprise operations worldwide, while increasing cost-effectiveness and reducing risks.

Garrett Larsson, CEO of Rhombus, stated, "We believe that the best solutions in physical security are open platforms. Our partnership with Honeywell will enable us to deliver innovative solutions in video security, access control, sensors, and building automation."

Honeywell will offer Rhombus products through its channel partners and system integrators as part of integration and reseller agreements. With deeper integrations, Rhombus's AI analytics will be integrated into Honeywell's access control systems.

The Rhombus platform will provide operational intelligence from video data beyond traditional surveillance. Specifically, with Rhombus Insights features, AI will be able to analyze activities and review incidents more quickly and effectively.

The solution is designed for various commercial environments such as retail chains, sports centers, schools, and other distributed areas. It will initially be available for use in North America.
