## Kontron Showcases Edge AI and CRA-Compliant Platforms at Embedded World 2026
Kontron is showcasing secure, connected, and Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)-compliant embedded and edge AI platforms for industrial edge applications at the Embedded World exhibition in Nuremberg from March 10-12, 2026.
Industrial edge systems combine heterogeneous processor architectures, AI accelerators, and structured cybersecurity features to meet performance and regulatory requirements. At the exhibition, Kontron will introduce new hardware platforms, AI acceleration options, and lifecycle security frameworks that support industrial IoT and edge computing environments.
### Intel Core Ultra Series 3 Processors for Industrial Edge
Kontron's industrial platforms, which integrate Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 (code-named Panther Lake) processors, carry significant weight. This processor architecture, with its combination of CPU, GPU, and Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enables AI tasks such as image processing, machine vision, and data analytics to run directly at the edge.
This structure, which combines computation and AI acceleration on a single platform, allows for low-latency, local inference operations without the need for additional accelerators. This ensures energy-efficient edge AI processing in applications requiring real-time responses.
Kontron will also introduce its 3.5" SBC PTL single-board computer for industrial applications. Designed for long-term availability and compliance with open standards, this platform includes AI-compatible and CRA-compliant lifecycle management and cybersecurity mechanisms.
### Expanding Portfolio with AMD and Arm Architectures
Beyond Intel platforms, Kontron offers the K4131-Px mITX industrial motherboard equipped with AMD Ryzen™ AI Embedded P100 processor series. This motherboard, featuring high graphics and AI performance, extensive display connectivity, and flexible expansion options, can be implemented at the system level with the SMARTCASE™ S740 enclosure.
Furthermore, the Arm portfolio is expanding with the OSM-S AM62L system module, compliant with the OSM standard and based on Texas Instruments’ dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A53 processor. These modules, supporting fanless, energy-efficient designs, shorten development times through modular standard integration.
### Industrial Box PCs with 50+ TOPS AI Acceleration
Kontron is introducing AI and CRA-compliant box PC models capable of 24/7 operation. While the KBox platform provides control and visualization with Intel® Core™ processors, MLSoC acceleration can be added with the new SiMa mezzanine card.
This setup delivers over 50 TOPS of edge AI performance, serving multi-camera image processing, machine vision, and multimodal generative AI applications. It can be integrated without requiring changes to existing software stacks.
### Integrated Cybersecurity and Lifecycle Management
KontronAIShield and KontronOS components have been integrated into the platforms to provide secure boot, structured vulnerability management, system currency, and unauthorized access protection. Kontron ToolSuite enables scalable management of system and BIOS configurations for industrial environments.
This ecosystem secures network connections of digital products under CRA, while offering traceability and long-term maintenance support at the firmware and operating system levels.
### 5G Connectivity and Mission-Critical Systems
The exhibition will also feature 5G industrial modules in mass production. These modules, designed for industrial automation, railway, and aerospace applications requiring high bandwidth and low latency, are suitable for data-intensive edge and IoT scenarios.
In the aerospace and defense sectors, the µDARC and HARAKAN-F platforms will be introduced. A live demonstration will showcase deterministic, time-critical networking and real-time data exchange, emphasizing their suitability for mission-critical applications.
### Rapid Transition from Design to Mass Production
Under the Electronics² brand, Kontron offers rapid prototyping capabilities. The service within the Beflex electronic network provides support from functional prototypes to small-series production. This shortens the transition from design to production and allows early validation of embedded hardware concepts.
At its exhibition, Kontron brings together heterogeneous processor platforms, edge AI accelerators, integrated cybersecurity, and connectivity features to meet the performance, compliance, and long-term lifecycle management needs of industrial IoT deployments.
