Yokogawa Electric and Anybotics, a provider of industrial inspection robots, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to enhance automated industrial inspection processes. As part of this collaboration, Yokogawa's OpreX Robot Management Core software will be integrated into the software architecture of Anybotics' Anymal robot series.
Anymal stands out as an autonomous and remotely controlled quadruped robot capable of performing inspections in challenging industrial conditions. With an IP67 protection rating, this robot offers resistance to water and dust.
Anybotics offers two models of its Anymal robots: Anymal D, designed for autonomous inspections in both indoor and outdoor industrial areas; and Anymal X, an explosion-proof robot with ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 certifications.
### OpreX Robot Management Core Software and Functionality
Through this collaboration, the OpreX Robot Management Core software will support users in automating plant maintenance processes. The software integrates with plant control systems, enabling robots to autonomously perform maintenance tasks. This marks the first step towards automation in human-powered maintenance operations in industrial facilities.
Yokogawa emphasizes that this integration will make maintenance operations in industrial facilities more efficient, safer, and continuous.
