## WIKA Expands Level Measurement with Compact Radar Sensor
WIKA has introduced the compact ILT radar sensor, which enables accurate level measurement even in challenging conditions using non-contact radar technology. This sensor provides reliable measurement, especially in viscous, solid, and particulate-laden media, as well as in plastic containers and confined spaces.
Level measurement is increasingly performed in demanding environments and confined spaces, such as in wastewater treatment, raw material storage, mobile machinery, and heating systems. WIKA's ILT radar sensor can measure without direct contact with the medium, using the non-contact free-beam radar principle. This allows for accurate measurement even through plastic container walls, reducing the risk of contamination.
### ILT Radar Sensor Features
- Utilizes non-contact radar technology, requiring no mechanical contact
- Suitable for viscous liquids, bulk solids, and particulate media
- Can measure through plastic container walls
- Temperature range varies by two versions: ILT-C01: -40 °C to +100 °C, ILT-C05: -40 °C to +150 °C
- Provides protection against electric field interference with metal shielding
- Resistant to dust, moisture, heat, vibration, and shock (up to 100 g shock)
- Compact design for easy installation in confined spaces and mobile machinery
- Functions such as overflow prevention and dry-run protection with up to two switching points
Radar-based level sensors offer advantages where ultrasonic and capacitive methods are affected by environmental conditions and media variables. The ILT sensor provides operation that is less susceptible to temperature changes, steam, and dust effects. This offers a reliable and long-lasting measurement solution across a wide range of industrial applications.
With its compact design, high-temperature resistance, and non-contact nature, the WIKA ILT expands its portfolio of level measurement technologies. It is also available in models adaptable to specific industrial requirements.
