## Practical Automation Solutions for Northern Nevada Manufacturing Workforce from OnRobot in Reno
OnRobot will offer direct and hands-on automation solutions to the local manufacturing sector with its "Build Your Automation Roadmap" event in Reno on April 9th.
### Responding to Workforce Issues in Regional Manufacturing
Northern Nevada's rapidly growing manufacturing sector faces challenges due to an almost non-existent labor market. OnRobot's free, in-person event targets manufacturers operating in key sectors such as metalworking, CNC machining, electronics, aerospace, food and beverage, and industrial equipment manufacturing. These areas form the backbone of Reno's manufacturing economy and are among the sectors most affected by the current labor shortage.
### Labor Shortages and the Importance of Automation
According to a report prepared by the University of Nevada, Reno, for the Nevada Office of Workforce Innovation, labor shortages exist across all regional economic development authorities in the state. The metal fabrication, precision machining, and electronics sectors, in particular, have been severely impacted in the Reno area.
Kristian Hulgard, General Manager for OnRobot Americas, stated, "Northern Nevada has become one of the country's most dynamic manufacturing regions, but this growth makes rapid hiring difficult for employers. Automation here is not a future concept, but an immediate operational solution. This event offers manufacturers in the region a clear and actionable roadmap."
### What to Expect at the Event?
Attendees will be able to see live demonstrations of common applications of FANUC robots with OnRobot's end-of-arm tooling, such as machine tending, material handling, assembly, packaging, and quality control. Experts in robotics, equipment, and integration will share their real-world experiences in guiding manufacturers through the automation transition process.
