Omron has introduced the VHV5 series, offering high-speed decoding with real-time and ISO-compliant barcode quality monitoring for the global digital supply chain.

### Product Introduction
The VHV5-F is designed as a fixed-mount industrial barcode reader. It ensures quality by automatically inspecting 1D and 2D barcodes and direct part marks (DPMs) on high-speed production lines. With high-resolution imaging and real-time grading algorithms, it ensures compliance with international quality standards throughout the production process.

### Automatic Setup and Code Quality Monitoring
In today's industry, the need for manual calibration is a significant challenge. The VHV5 addresses this issue with an intelligent system that automatically adjusts focus and lighting parameters. Liquid lens technology and integrated lighting, 10 times more powerful than previous models, ensure reliable image acquisition at distances between 50 mm and 2000 mm.

For quality control, the system performs in-line verification using ISO 15416, 15415, and 29158 industry standard algorithms. It generates a real-time "Readability Score," detecting quality degradation before codes become unreadable. The device can decode up to 4000 parts per minute and perform full ISO-compliant verification at a speed of 1200 parts/minute.

### Technical Performance and Processing Power
The hardware is based on a quad-core processor and a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU). This architecture supports the X-Mode 6.0 algorithm, which enables reading damaged or low-contrast marks. Two sensor options are available: 2.3 megapixels at 80 FPS and 5 megapixels global shutter at 40 FPS.

In high-speed filling or electronic component assembly, the "Smart Support" feature automatically applies image enhancement filters to combat motion blur and reflections. The device is compatible with various industrial protocols, including Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and RS-232.

### Application Areas and Durability
The VHV5 boasts an IP69K protection rating, providing resistance against high-pressure water and dust. This allows for:

• Label verification on inclined and wrinkled packaging at high belt speeds in the Food and Beverage sector,
• DPM tracking on metal engine parts or battery cells during the assembly process in Automotive and Electric Vehicles,
• High-density code management over large areas in automated warehouse centers in Logistics.

Furthermore, in facilities currently using Omron V430-F or V440-F readers, the VHV5's pin compatibility allows existing cables and mounting equipment to be used for performance upgrades. This reduces engineering costs and simplifies global compliance requirements.
